ACTING FOR THE CAMERA is designed for the serious actor who desires to either refresh or expand their craft in the arena of film and television acting. Through exercises, improvs, intense on-camera scene work with pre-assigned scenes and critiqued video playback, the actors will come to an understanding and development of their craft of Acting for the Camera.

THE DIRECTORS TAKE
2 Days; with 1 Instructor / Director or with 2 Instructors / Directors
If you’ve ever wondered how to get your absolute best performance in front of the camera, this is the Workshop. THE DIRECTOR’S TAKE is a unique opportunity for the experienced actor to work intimately with the director as they shine a spotlight on the truth in your work. Spend two days exercising, rehearsing & shooting two previously assigned scenes. See where you stop yourself, and where you trust the moment, and how positive directorial collaboration can have you break through. Have an impact with your work as you focus on listening, concentration, a simple intention, a pure emotion...an impulse. Step boldly into new territory.

THE SHOOT
2 Days; 1 Instructor / Director or 2 Instructors / Directors
Go “On Location” for what is definitely the most exciting and educational Workshop experience available to actors today. THE SHOOT! Work intimately with the Director as he rehearses you, blocks and shoots your pre-assigned scene. Experience the demands of working on a low-budget independent film in a real world lab, where you’ll combine the benefits of learning on the job with intense directorial collaboration.
The Breakdown: You’ll be cast in a pre-assigned scene which you’ll put down to memory. With 1 Instructor / Director – On Saturday you’ll arrive “on location” for a pre-SHOOT rehearsal / rap session. With 2 Instructors / Directors – The above will begin on Friday, for a Saturday SHOOT with Director # 1, and again on Saturday with Director # 2, for the Sunday SHOOT. Set, camera and production personnel & terminology will be discussed, along with any questions you may have about the business and craft of film and television production. Following the rap session, the Director will block and rehearse your scene. The following day you’ll return to the location at a pre-assigned call time, go into make-up, step onto the set, rehearse the scene, then lay it down for camera. Sunday night, it’s a ‘wrap’! Then, time permitting, a speed-through of the dailies with comment and critique by the Director(s). Definitely a full weekend. Definitely a unique experience.

THE 2 DAY TEEN'S SHOOT - 2 Days
NOW IT’S THE TEENS’ TURN!! For the first time, the NATURAL ACT opens up it’s most exciting 2-Day offering to Teens ! THE TEENS’ SHOOT ! All the excitement of a live film shoot packed into one fast paced, dynamic weekend. Go “On Location” with Price Hall, Teacher, Director & Founder of CITY OF VISION STUDIOS (www.cityofvisionstudios.com), and experience the demands of auditioning for and working on a film in a real world lab. From audition to blocking and rehearsing your scene, to shooting on the set, to watching it all played back in the TEENS’ “Dailies” session. A great workshop. A unique experience. A whole lotta fun!
